New Style
I’m working on a new style - I just gotta get the sidebar all straightened out. You can see a preview here.

Oh yeah, this is my new car.
The alignment’s way off, one of the tires has a slow leak, there’s no sound system, there’s a coolent leak that is causing the computer to beep without end, and I still don’t technically own it, and can’t get plates for it.
I still plan to get a hold of a SBC and put it where the deck was, I’m just not sure if I’ma use Linux or XP Embeded. I do want a multi-colour OLED on it though…It might cost as much to make as it will to fix the rest of the car. ![]()
I’m going to be working on a few projects, that might even wind up comming together into one large project.
The Rogers mypix page is good for getting access to your photos when you want to - but it’s not a moblogging solution. I intend to create that solution. So I’ll either be making a moblog software, or opening a moblog service, which brings me to my next project.
People like sharing their photos online, but a lot of people don’t want to spend the time creating a site that will look good and be fully featured. (Comments, subscription/notifications, etc.) So I could make something to solve that. A PhoBlog.ca site that you could upload a picture to. It would then take a look at the EXIF data if there was any to fill in the blanks, or you could yourself. People could comment, or people could be notified when you update, or you could skin your site (I’d make a template format, to protect myself from PHP droppers, of course.)
And then I was thinking, I could charge. Of course, I’d make different levels of accounts, a free account (ads?), a cheap account with some features and a few limitations, a mid-range with less limits and more features, and then a top-level account. And then I could incorporate my first project into it. Upload through a webform, or from your cameraphone. (I’d start out supporting Rogers, then Fido, then I’d look at other carriers, maybe even test out with American or European providers if I could find volenteers to help.)
So what do you think? Would you use this service/pay for it? Do you know someone who would? Should I just make some code and try to sell it to a provider? What do you, the reader, think?
