Moving Back to Alberta
Saskatchewan is boring. I’ve been living here since sometime late March. I managed to get a job (and hold it) since April. I haven’t been able to save very much of it, due to unexpected expences. Hopefully though, I’ve gotten past some of my inabilities to save, and will be able to do so better.
So I have a new section on the site, called Moving to Alberta. I haven’t quite decided if I’m goingto Edmonton or Calgary - it all depends on what they have to offer me. Some have called me a flip-flopper. I’d rather flip-flop than remain stuborn in the wrong direction. I like to call that being adaptive.
When I get a paycheck, I’m depositing it into savings at a TD Green Machine. I only have $200 cach back which I then put into checking. After that, I don’t intend on taking anything out of savings. $400/mo seems pretty good to me, even if I have some expences to take care of, like getting my car in order and paying some bills and the like. I have all of my expences prioritized out and I have an estimate of what I’ll have by the end of the year, which is when I’m aiming to make my move.
What’s causing me to flip-flop? My brother, my sister, and, of course, girls. Being able to get a job might also take part of the decision. I hope that’s not a big deal, although I had a hell of a time getting a job in Calgary. Getting one here was a complete fluke, although it felt natural enough of a process. There’s lots that I’ve learned here so far, and lots more I hope to.
So I raise my bottle of Coca-Cola to moving back home. Wish me luck.
